• Creative Parenting Interview

Now, I’m not going to pretend I can write anything near as elegant as Tim Kuefler. You can get your full dose of that over at his blog – timotheories. I do want to make a special post though to say “Thank You!” for interviewing me and highlighting the topic of delegating between work and personal lives. I think more resources are needed for busy parents looking to succeed as caregivers and career makers – even if it’s just knowing that you are not alone in the struggle.

Below is the video interview but I highly recommend reading Tim’s written prelude and exploring the other interviews he’s created. Like Tim, I hope this video stimulates and inspires. Here’s a link to his complete post.

Here is a link to a previous preview post about outsourcing business vs household responsibilities.

    Be seeing you.

  • Drawing the Dead

There is always an out pour of sketches, drawings, and paintings when a public figure newly passes away. Besides the legal aspect regarding rights of publicity, do you think this is a cheap social media move or a lovely tribute? This is a question I had to ask myself after the recent passing of Gene Wilder.

I went through with the sketch. I did so because I truly enjoyed Gene Wilder’s work. While I created a stylized illustration I was also taking time to remember the great cinematic moments he’d been a part of and how that had played a part in my childhood memories. I posted not only to showcase my work, but to give the viewer a chance to take part in the same process of recollection.

I’ve heard some artists deciding the opposite. I do feel if you are only using these moments to gain a larger following while a name is trending, then you are drawing the deceased for the wrong reason.

I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences regarding this subject.

    Be seeing you.
